It...Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. It's always good to know that we're not alone. I, too, have had to deal with most of my friends supporting this regime and thinking that everything that's happened is a good thing. As a result I've found that I haven't been losing friends (in quantity at least) so much as noticing a shift in the nature and demeanor of those friendships and relationships I embrace. Those relatives and "friends" who wish to plug their ears as they howl obscenities at me will find themselves quickly cut off and ignored.

Those who still engage in civilized rational discourse, despite how different their views may be, will find me ready to debate them at any time. Of course, the point is (as my sister fails to see) that "civilized" does not mean to ignore the elephant in the room and call someone a saint when they're really robbing you blind.

Civilized implies that you call things what they are and use reason to sort out the ramifications. So many moral relativists, social metaphysicists, and pragmatists seek desperately to avoid being called out on what they represent.

My challenge has always been, if they advocate theft, they are thieves. If they don't like the label, then they need to reevaluate their moral position.
As long as these debates continue to be documented, held up, and exposed to the light...so long as the liberals continue to dart into the shadows the minute their beliefs are called what they are...their hold on humanity will continue to weaken.

Already we are beginning to set free the mind of man. It's just a question of whether it will happen in time to salvage America.American Anti-theisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18287086913599484297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5292304578955387941.post-77259520441180796182010-04-17T09:49:00.268-07:002010-04-17T09:49:00.268-07:00I appreciate and sympathize with your efforts here...I appreciate and sympathize with your efforts here.

Far too many people whose fuzzy ideas of the "goodness" of altruism, have become emboldened by our country's stark move toward socialism. Using the force of government to steal from the hated "haves" and bestow upon the "have nots" adds an unearned confidence in their own "doing the right thing." As if equalizing outcomes equates with justice.

I find myself in the exact same position as you, but with friends, who argue that health care -- a collection of personal actions and goods and services provided by the minds of other men -- is a right to be doled out by the government, paid for at the point of a gun: a oorrupt idea I must at least speak against when I hear it used. Their thoughts about the function of government are anathema to the very foundation of this country.

The one good thing about our horrible slide toward socialism is that it forces us to sharpen our thoughts and begin to fight against these putrescent collectivist ideas on rational, moral bedrock: the right of man to live his own life by his own means.

Keep up the good fight.Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12178771612031280593noreply@blogger.com
